Love 'n' Roll: The Ultimate Valentine's Playlist

It’s difficult not to associate February with love. Speaking of which, the day of hearts is just around the corner! In search of the best love songs by bands to serenade a special someone? Or will you be embracing the Valentine blues with music instead?

Whichever it is, we believe you’d take great interest in this month’s blog, Love ‘n’ Roll: The Ultimate Valentine’s Playlist. Read on as we have prepared different songs for different situations in love!

  1. Criminal – State Champs

So what’s it mean when every dream I have’s about you now? Did you hear that? It’s the love alarm going off! This song is perfect for the early stages of developing a crush or falling in love with someone. Otherwise, it can even be about that one stranger you passed by but can’t get out of your head. You’re just caught up in your feelings and have no control over them.

Falling in love with someone is relatively easy—that’s why it’s called falling. You don’t have to do anything, and you most likely can’t do anything about it. Just sit back and ride through the roller coaster of emotions, and boom! In love.

  • Still Into You – Paramore

But in continuation to the previous number, love isn’t like what fairy tales led us to believe, that when two people fall in love, it’s immediately happily ever after for them. That’s actually just the beginning of everything because staying in love through every inevitable problem and disagreementis the hard part. As Paramore put it, it’s not a walk in the park to love each other.

Love isn’t just a set of complex emotions. It’s a choice that you make—a choice in which even on your worst nights, you’re still into your partner and are willing to work things through.

  • You – The Pretty Reckless

Everyone probably has a story or two to share about unrequited love. Yearning to talk to someone but hearing no words. Just dull, unwanted silence. Longing to see someone but only seeing each other through awkward glances. You wish for someone to be a part of your life when they don’t even want to be a part of yours.

This song perfectly captures the essence of loving someone who doesn’t—or might never—love you back.

Also, check out their newly-released album, “Death By Rock and Roll”! It recently ranked first in the iTunes Chart in Australia and several other countries!

  • Use Me – The Goo Goo Dolls

You say you love me in the darkness, but in the day, I am denied. Ouch. Ever felt what it’s like to be with someone who continually takes you for granted?

It doesn’t really matter if I only fill the space of someone you’ve not forgotten, of someone who’s gone away. Or have you ever been the rebound in a relationship?

Either way, you deserve better. If you can relate to the lyrics, then it’s probably a wake-up call because it’s high time that you recognize your worth. Stepping away from a relationship where you don’t feel valued is easier said than done, so while you’re still in the process of healing, allow this song to let you know that you’re not alone.

Heads up if you’re in or have ever been in a long-distance relationship! This ballad tells the story of a couple wherein the man had to leave his better half to be on tour with his band. Throughout the song, you can hear Jeremy (ADTR’s lead vocals) convincing Sierra (guest vocalist) to wait till he gets home and Sierra expressing her sentiments on the hardships of loving someone who’s physically distant.

Many people say that distance is no problem as long as two people’s hearts remain close, but it’s not always the case for everyone. Towards the end of the song, it appears that the couple had broken up, saying that they knew it’d happen eventually.

  • Never Should Have Let You Go – Simple Plan

Regret is a powerful emotion often accompanied by the feeling of helplessness. Never Should Have Let You Go encompasses the two, making for a heart-wrenching post-breakup song.

When we’ve been with someone for a long time, we tend to get accustomed to all that they do for us, so much that we eventually take them for granted. We do stupid things because we know that we’d still be forgiven and accepted anyway. However, do we expect our loved ones to put up with such treatment forever? Doubt it.

Don’t want to end up in the same situation as in the song? Here is a gentle reminder to make sure that you make your partner feel loved and appreciated—not just this upcoming Valentine’s Day. Every day.

  • Must Have Done Something Right – Relient K

To also be loved by the person you love is undoubtedly one of the best feelings ever. There’s no more need to keep guessing, no more need to keep doubting, and no more need to keep searching. Your person is there, and they’re there to stay.

This one’s for those who have finally gotten it right, for those who are fortunate enough to find their person in a world with 7 billion others. If anyone can make you a better person, your favorite human most certainly could. Let them know how much you value having them by dedicating this upbeat, lovey-dovey song!

  • Somebody Out There – A Rocket To The Moon

For you who's been growing impatient as everyone’s been getting into relationships. For you who's waiting to be treated right. For you who has yet to experience how magical true love can be.

Someday he’ll find you—I swear that is true.

Don’t try to rush things and merely go with the flow. Love yourself, live your life, and find comfort in the fact that there’s somebody out there for you. Did you love the songs as much as we did? One of the things that makes them great is their recording and production, so if you’re ready to share your music with the world, we’ll gladly help you with that. How?
